Alan Abrams, MD

Alan Abrams is the Program director of the Geriatric Fellowship Program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In his current position, he oversees the teaching, administration, and mentoring for the 12 fellows in the program. His clinical practice is in General Internal Medicine and Gerontology. Dr. Abrams has won numerous awards, including Teacher of the Year at the Cambridge Hospital, and Physician of the Year by the National Association for Home Care. In 2002 he received an Honorable Mention for the Kenneth B. Schwartz Caregiver Award. Dr. Abrams graduated from Antioch College and went on to receive his Masters in Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health. He then received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and served as an intern at St. Elisabeth's Hospital of Boston.

Glenn Frank has practiced law in Boston for over 20 years. He is a graduate of Tulane University and received his Master of Laws in Taxation from Boston University in 1984. Mr. Frank was the managing partner of the from Frank & Lebwith PC, before becoming General Counsel to the Super 88 Markets - the largest Asian supermarket chain in Greater Boston - and its founder George Luu. Mr. Frank is also the author of Abe Gilman's Ending, novel about Abe, newly admitted to a nursing home and about to give up on life, but who becomes inspired by a group of fellow residents who decide to use their personal histories to write a novel. Mr. Frank was the winner of the Bruce P. Rossley Literary Award for Best New Voice in 1999. He is married, has two children, and currently lives in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

 

Judith Waterston

Judy Waterston has served as President of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Network since March, 2003. Previously Ms. Waterston served as President and CEO of Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center of Chicago and as the Executive Director of the Baylor Institute of Rehabilitation in Dallas. During her career, Ms. Waterston has served as President of the Texas Association of Rehabilitation Facilities, chairman of American Hospital Association's Section for Long-Term Car and Rehabilitation, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Ms. Waterston received her bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and her Master of Science from Ohio State University.
