In-Kind Donations
Thank you for considering an in-kind gift to us. Hearth is always in need of various items to help our elders feel at home and to help our organization run more efficiently. If you would like to make a donation of an in-kind gift, please contact Jennifer Hibbard at 617-369-1565 in our Institutional Advancement Department.
Requested Items:
Craft Supplies:Drawing paper, construction paper, crayons, markers, Cray-Pas, scissors, glue, used magazines for collages, felt, other art supplies you can think of! |
Beads:The elders at Ruggles have started a jewelry making group. If you have extra beads and/or other supplies, we would greatly appreciate them! |
Chalkboard or Dry Erase Board:Either one of these items would be very helpful for group staff training sessions. |
Puzzles and Games:Residents at all our sites love to sit down to a game of Chinese Checkers or a picturesque jigsaw puzzle (large-piece-puzzles preferred.) |
Continuously Needed Items:
- Movie Passes
- Taxi Vouchers
- MBTA Charlie Tickets or Cards
- Phone cards
- Gift Cards to restaurants, grocery stores, or pharmacies (such as Walgreens or CVS)
- Inflatable air mattresses: Sometimes our Outreach clients move into their new homes before they even have a bed to sleep on. Inflatable air mattresses that we could lend to our clients would be greatly appreciated.
- Personal Care Items: Outreach clients are very grateful for gifts of full-sized toiletry items such as shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and soap.
- Storage Space: Because our donors are so generous, Anna Bissonnette House often runs out of room to store clothes and food. With more storage space near 1640 Washington Street, we could be better prepared for emergencies that require these resources.
- Bingo Prizes: Residents at ABH, Ruggles, and Uphams Corner enjoy weekly bingo games. Donations of small, inexpensive items suitable for men or women (coffee mugs, basic cleaning supplies, and toiletries are always big hits!) are always needed.
