In-Kind Donations
In-kind donations of needed items are a great way to help Hearth's elders feel at home and to help our organization run more efficiently. If you would like to make a donation of an in-kind gift, please contact Jennifer Hartwell at 617-369-1565 in our Institutional Advancement Department.
Wish List:
Flowers:We could use some annuals - or even prennials if your garden has some to spare - to add to some of the flower beds and planters at Heath's sites.
TV and DVD Player/VCR: Weekly movies are a popular activity at all of Hearth's residences. We are in need of a 32" TV (approx.) and a DVD Player and VCR.
Outreach Program
Once a client has a place to call home, making it a home is a remaining challenge. Resources are scarce and basic needs often go unmet which makes the transition out of homelessness even more difficult. Out Outreach Program tries to ease the transition by keeping a small stock of basic household items. Please ask us what we are in most need of. This ensures that your donation will target the needs of our elders - and have the greatest impact!Continuously Needed Items: |
Taxi Vouchers and MBTA Charlie Tickets or Cards: Outreach clients need to be able to get to doctor's appointments and housing interviews. Missed appointments and interviews can add months to the housing-search process.
Pay-as-you-go cell phones and phone minutes cards: By lending cell phones to clients, our Outreach Case Managers are better able to stay in touch with their clinets and coordinate oppointments.
Inflatable air mattresses: Sometimes our Outreach clients move into their new homes before they even have a bed to sleep on. Inflatable air mattresses that we could lend to our clients would be greatly appreciated.
Personal Care Items: Outreach clients are very grateful for gifts of full-sized toiletry items such as shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and soap.
Bingo Prizes: Residents at ABH, the Elsie Frank House, Ruggles, and Uphams Corner enjoy weekly bingo games. Donations of small, inexpensive items suitable for men and women (coffee mugs, basic cleaning supplies, and toiletries are always big hits!) are always needed.
Please note: We cannot accept unsolicited donations of clothing and houseware items at this time due to lack of storage space.
