Growing Old

A Documentary Film

Hearth is very pleased to report that the premier at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown was a huge success.  Growing Old opened with a sold-out showing and positive reactions from those who saw it.  Congratulations to everyone involved in the film!

Hearth is also very grateful for everyone who gave donations at the premier.  All told, over $5000 was raised for our work to bring elders home for good.  Thank you to all of those who donated.

Short Film Synopsis:
Hearth's own Dr. Paul Mazur is one of the individuals interviewed in this film about what it means to age.  As a doctor who works with frail elders, his perspective is presented alongside that of Helen Metros -- a bustling and energetic seventy-four year old waitress --  and photographer Chester Higgins Jr. who is trying to change society's perceptions of aging through his photographs.  For more information about the film, view the press release and visit the website: www.growingold.info.
