1991-2011: Hearth's 20th Anniversary Year

This year Hearth is celebrating its twentieth anniversary. From our beginnings in 1991 as a seven-woman, volunteer committee, to the organization we are now in 2011, one thing has remained constant: our dedication to ending homelessness among the elderly. For twenty years we have been creating and providing affordable permanent, service-enriched housing for frail elders in the Greater Boston area; assisting over a thousand homeless elders to find housing through our Outreach Program; and leading the effort to raise awareness of this growing problem and promote Hearth’s proven solution.

We're planning multiple celebration events throughout the year, including a revival of the Fore... The Elders! Golf Tournament on May 20th, a party for all our residents this summer, and the Coming Together celebration on October 6th.
