Hearth Seeks New CEO
March 13, 2006
Elisabeth Babcock, our President and CEO for the past six years, will be leaving Hearth on April 28, 2006. Although the Hearth community is saddened by Beth's departure, Hearth has never been stronger, and we welcome this opportunity to bring on a new dynamic leader to take us through the next phase of our evolution. Hearth is in a solid financial position and has a strong leadership team in place to see us through the transition., Ellen Nolan Gard, our Chief Operating Officer, will take the helm at Hearth while we seek a new President and CEO.
Hearth, which is recognized nationwide as one of the premier supported housing and placement organizations serving the neediest elders, is looking forward to building on the legacy that Beth leaves us. The search processes is underway, and the Board expects to meet candidates who are some of the nation's most talented leaders, securing the one who will not only pursue the development of the exciting new housing projects and service programs now underway, but will also implement new effective strategies for ending elder homelessness.
Hearth thanks Beth for her outstanding vision, leadership, and contributions that have so well-positioned the organization for the next stage of growth. We wish her well in her new role as President and CEO of two Boston-based nonprofit organizations, the Women's Union and the Crittenton House, leading them as they move toward merger.
We thank you, our friends, for your past support and ask you for your continued partnership as we embark upon the next exciting chapter of opportunity, change, and growth.
