Hearth President & CEO Mark Hinderlie Hearth was amid a flurry of activity when I arrived six months ago. I happily report that the whirlwind place continues. All 14 units at Burroughs Street are now occupied, the new residents and staff turning our newest house into a home. Our Outreach Team continues to work with homeless men and women to find them homes, and every day residents in Hearth's facilities receive the support and services they need.

Hearth at Ollmsted Green is moving closer to becoming reality. We recently got site control and are fully permitted for our planned building with up to 80 units of assisted and supported housing. In addition, we just submitted our application for low-income housing tax credits to support the project.

also Hearth's Board of Directors and senior management have undertaken a critical strategic planning effort to shape our growth as we move forward. We have recruited nearly 20 members for our new Board of Visitors - an initiative to increase Hearth's base of support throughout the community.

None of our achievements - past, present, and future - would even be remotely possible without the support of our partner organizations, of the effective and supportive people who work hard to achieve our Mayor's vision of a city where homelessness is a thing of the past, our friends -both elected and appointed - who work for the Commonwelath, of enlightened and supportive corporations and foundations, and, finally, of the thousands of individuals who have helped with the financial support, volunteer efforts, and by speaking up on behalf of those we serve.

To all of you, we offer our deepest gratitude ... and our promise to continue working to end elder homelessness.
