The beautifully renovated brownstone, located on Beacon Street in Brookline, is home to nine low-income elderly men and women. They have a variety of backgrounds, some of them longtime Brookline residents who, after many years of living elsewhere, in shelters, or on the streets, have returned home to Brookline.
Each resident lives in a fully furnished studio apartment with kitchenette. A majority of residents enjoy special meals and holiday celebrations together, prepared by volunteers in the community kitchen. Evenings are often spent in front of the large fireplace in the house’s lovely living/dining area.
